Technology in the classroom

Filed under: Uncategorized — bused101 at 10:33 am on Monday, November 24, 2008

Two years ago, I could not fathom how to use technology in the classroom.  Today I use the internet and have discovered how to use technology to my advantage in the classroom.

During my stint in expanding my teaching abilities, skills, and knowledge, I have learned several interesting facts.  1)  students love the net better 2) they do not want to click on links to read (just give them one big page)  3)  they will stay focused better while on the computer  4)  less trouble in the class room.

Of course, there still seems to be that one child who does not do what they are suppose to do.

My Desktop Publishing class, Office Management Class, and College 101 uses the e-mail to send me lessons and I use my blog and theirs to give them individual assignments.  So far, about 10 students did not have an e-mail account and do now, about 15 of them did not know how to attach a file to an e-mail and they are learning how to put pictures on their blogs.

I can see how these skills would help them on their jobs and in college.  Now they need to expand and try things on their own and become better skilled.
